What is coaching? How is it different from therapy?

Although coaching can be therapeutic, it is different from therapy. Coaching is action-oriented and centered around your vision or goals for the future. Coaching is an interactive partnership that focuses on the present and future, whereas therapy focuses on the past. If you need support navigating a complex mental health diagnosis, therapy might be the best fit for you. I’ve also had clients who were successful in having both a therapist and a coach to support and develop in all areas — past, present, and future.

What’s somatic coaching?

Somatic coaching brings the body back into the conversation. "Somatic" simply means ‘of the body’, and in our work together, your body is one of your wisest guides.

When you feel stuck, anxious, or disconnected, that's not just in your head. It lives in your nervous system, in the body, and in energy. Somatic work helps you learn to shift out of survival mode and back into balance, so your body can finally rest, heal, and open to life again.

And as safety builds in the body, something beautiful happens. You start to reconnect with the parts of yourself that feel alive, magnetic, and free. The parts that know what you want, what you're worth, and who you came here to be.

What can I expect from a session?

Every session begins with a grounding practice to help you arrive fully present. We slow down and tune inward first, because somatic coaching happens when you're actually in your body, not just your to-do list.

From there, you bring the focus area. We go where you need to go. The session itself is a blend of conversation, conscious breathwork, and guided somatic work woven in as it serves you. We use the Conscious Change Method® to move through the patterns and beliefs that are keeping you stuck, and to build new ways of thinking, feeling, and being that are rooted in your truth.

You'll leave each session with more clarity than you arrived with, and something tangible to carry forward.

How soon will I see results with coaching?

Real change, the kind that rewires how you see yourself and move through the world, takes time and practice. New patterns don't form overnight, and we're not here for band-aid solutions.

What most women notice early on is a shift in how they feel in their bodies. A little more spaciousness. A little more trust. Curiosity and openness. The bigger transformations build from there. You'll have journaling prompts and practices between sessions to help you track your own growth, and you'll be able to look back and see how far you've come.
